We are excited to announce that DON’T WAIT DIAL THE 8s® is now a registered trademark of Schmidt Kramer Injury Lawyers! It’s a slogan we’ve stood behind for years, reminding injured people that when they need legal help, they shouldn’t wait to reach out.
Milestones in Our Community: Causes We Support
Growing as a firm means continuing to increase our commitment to and involvement in our local community. Some of our recent donations and sponsorships have included:
- World Central Kitchen: Supporting families affected by the earthquakes in Colombia.
- Nouri’s Place: Participating in the 2nd Annual Nouri’s Place Golf Open. Nouri’s Place provides space for individuals with disabilities enjoy social activities and learn valuable job and life skills.
- Valley Youth House Annual Golf Tournament: A vital organization supporting young people facing homelessness throughout Central PA.
- The Dauphin County Bar Association: We are a proud sponsor of the associations etiquette series, summer meet and greet, and meet the judges event.
- Additional causes: Schmidt Kramer supports both the Diane Crosby Pancreatic Cancer Fundraiser and the Jill Staub Memorial Motorcycle Ride.
Our Team Milestone: Two New Workers’ Compensation Attorneys
We are pleased to welcome Joseph O’Donnell and John Frommer to our workers’ compensation department.
Joseph is a Central Pennsylvania native and U.S. Marine Corps veteran who began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County. His practice is entirely focused on advocating for injured workers.
John has litigated workers’ compensation and personal injury cases for more than 42 years and is a Pennsylvania Bar Association-certified specialist in workers’ compensation law. He has also received the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award three times.
Professional Milestones: Our Attorneys in the Legal Community
Our support for the Dauphin County Bar Association extends to showing up in person. Gerry Kramer, Scott Cooper, Elizabeth Kramer, and Grace Mills attended the association’s summer picnic.
Grace Mills shared bar exam advice on Widener Law Commonwealth’s “Smashing the Bar” podcast. She also attended the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division 2026 Summit.
Legal Developments Worth Noting
Staying engaged with the legal community keeps us up to date on the law. Two recent developments deserve your attention.
- Short breaks and workers’ compensation: In Giant Eagle v. Tierra Baker Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court held that a pharmacy technician injured while crossing the street for food during a mandatory 15-minute break was entitled to workers’ compensation. If you were injured at work or on a short break, you may be entitled to benefits.
- Ladder safety: Certain Werner multi-purpose ladders were recently recalled because their locking mechanisms could fail to fully engage, creating a serious fall hazard. If you or a loved one was injured in a fall involving any ladder product, you may have legal rights. As always, don’t wait, dial the 8s.

Not every milestone happens in the courtroom. This issue celebrates a new family addition, a third consecutive reading contest win, a Division I coaching debut, and the start of the football season. Our newsletter also introduces Elizabeth Kramer’s three rescue pets.
