As 2025 comes to a close, the Schmidt Kramer team reflects on another year of service, growth, and meaningful engagement within the community. This month includes important professional updates, charitable initiatives, firm accomplishments, and personal milestones from our attorneys and staff.
Firm Updates & Community Involvement
Partner Scott Cooper presented at the PBI Auto Law Program on October 28, providing updates on UM/UIM law and legislative developments. The firm also supported several local organizations this season, including the Harrisburg JCC Theater Program, The Downbeat Foundation, Seena Magowitz Foundation, Vickie’s Angel Foundation, UCP Central PA, and East Pennsboro High School Wrestling.
Congratulations to Attorney Grace Mills
We are proud to announce that Grace Mills passed the July 2025 Bar Exam and was sworn into the Pennsylvania Bar on November 5. Her admission was moved by her father, Attorney Robert Mills, before Justice Brobson. Grace will continue at the firm as an associate attorney handling personal injury matters.
Events & Sponsorships
Schmidt Kramer served as a Silver Sponsor for Widener Law Commonwealth’s 35th Annual Gala, attended by several alumni from our firm.
Our 38th Annual UCP/Schmidt Kramer Golf Tournament raised $66,615 for UCP of Central PA, continuing a longstanding commitment to the organization.
Welcoming New Attorneys to the Firm
Schmidt Kramer is pleased to welcome two accomplished attorneys to the team:
- Attorney Elizabeth Kramer, bringing experience in municipal, civil rights, and employment litigation.
- Attorney Elana Schnall, whose background includes municipal law, general litigation, and medical malpractice defense.
Both strengthen our ability to serve injured clients throughout the Commonwealth.
Community & Culture Updates
Attorney Kaleigh Ryder and her daughter, Clara, participated in the Dauphin County Bar Association’s “Take Your Child to Work Day,” where Clara observed courtroom demonstrations, took part in a mock trial, and gained an early appreciation for the responsibilities of the legal profession.
Partner Gerry Kramer and Attorney Mike Kosik completed the 90-mile Bike MS: City to Shore Ride, continuing a long-standing firm tradition of supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Their participation reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to charitable causes that directly impact communities throughout Pennsylvania.
Firm staff also took part in seasonal activities, including a Halloween costume event and various fall community gatherings, contributing to a positive, team-focused culture within the office.
Featured Pets of the Month
This month’s featured pets from the Mehring family include Boomer the retired thoroughbred, Dixie the black lab, Harper the mini-poodle, Otto the French bulldog puppy, and Lenny the resilient house cat.
Legal Reminder: Statute of Limitations
Workers’ Compensation: Claims must generally be filed within three years of the injury.
Motor Vehicle, Tort, and Medical Malpractice Claims: Typically subject to a two-year statute of limitations.
Missing these deadlines can bar recovery, so injured individuals should seek guidance promptly.
Holiday Giving Initiative
As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, Schmidt Kramer is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots at our 209 State Street office through December 10. Your contribution helps bring joy to local children and families during the holiday season.
Wishing You a Safe and Peaceful Holiday Season
As 2025 draws to a close, our team extends sincere gratitude to our clients, colleagues, and community partners. Your support strengthens our mission every day. We wish you a safe, healthy, and restful holiday season and look forward to continuing to serve you in the new year.
