The Hanover Evening Sun is reporting today about a 24-year-old Littlestown woman who was allegedly driving under the influence after colliding with a truck in the 6400 block of Chambersburg Road in Franklin Township early Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013, police said.
Nicole Knipple was driving her 2006 Chevrolet Aveo west on Chambersburg Road at about 2:50 a.m. when she drove into the oncoming lane, striking a truck tractor with a flat bed trailer driven by Tareq Samacha Dubbein, 38, of Nicholasville, Ky., according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police in Gettysburg.
After the collision, Knipple’s vehicle traveled back to the westbound lane and exited the road before coming to a final rest, police said. Knipple had to be extricated from the vehicle and was flown to York Hospital for treatment of her injuries, police added. Dubbein was not injured in the crash, police said.
Knipple on Tuesday afternoon was listed in serious condition at York Hospital officials said. Police said Knipple allegedly was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and drug paraphernalia allegedly was located in the vehicle.
