Cause of Wreck Unknown in Vicksburg Truck Accident That Killed One

June 19, 2012 –  The Sunbury Daily Item reported that a 53-year-old New Columbia man was killed in a driveway in Vicksburg at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday June 17, 2012 when a pickup truck swerved off Route 45 and struck him.  The victim was identified as Keith Wertz.

State police at Milton barracks in Pennsylvania said David E. Selby, 31, of Union, N.J., was traveling east on Route 45 in Buffalo Township when his 2009 Dodge Ram veered off the road for unknown reasons and struck Wertz, who was standing in the driveway.

Wertz was thrown by the impact into a utility pole.  Selby’s truck continued along a field for a short distance before coming to rest just south of Route 45.

Selby and four children in his vehicle, ages 10, 8, 5 and 4, were not injured.

The fatal car accident is now under review by Union County District Attorney D. Peter Johnson and charges against the driver are pending.  If you have any information on the accident contact the Pennsylvania State Police in Milton, Pennsylvania.
