Posted on Mar 01, 2013

A Waynesboro man was listed in critical condition in Meritus Medical Center Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle while crossing East Second Street near Enterprise Avenue at 8:38 p.m., according to Waynesboro police.

Alan Moats, no age given, was hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by John Boyd, no age given, also of Waynesboro.

Police Chief Jim Sourbier IV said this morning police are still working on a report and interviewing witnesses.

He said he is not sure if Moats was in the crosswalk when he was hit, and are trying to determine if he had attended the Music in the Schools event at the high school.

Crews with the Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department and Waynesboro EMS assisted on the scene.
