Police Search For Cumberland County Car Accident Driver

Mechanicsburg Police are seeking information about a hit and run car crash that occurred on Tuesday, October 17, 2012 in Cumberland County.  According to police, one person was injured after being rear-ended in the 600 block of Shepherdstown Road around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police said the car accident occurred when a vehicle traveling north on Shepherdstown Road stopped suddenly to avoid hitting a dog that was running across the street. A gold sedan that police describe as being similar to a Nissan Altima, struck the back of the stopped vehicle and then drove off.

The driver remaining at the scene was taken to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The driver of the sedan is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s.
