Perry County was the only county in the central Pennsylvania region that saw an increase in the number of fatal traffic crashes in 2012, according to year-end data from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Perry County tied for third lowest number of fatal accidents — just 18 — in PennDOT's eight-county District 8.
