Pennsylvania State Police Investigate 377 Crashes Over New Year’s Holiday, 86 Injuries But Only 1 Fatality

One person was killed and 86 others were injured in 377 crashes investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police during the New Year’s holiday.  The agency said 55 crashes of the crashes investigated by troopers from December 31 to January 1 were alcohol-related.
 

Troopers made 184 arrests for DUI and issued 1,884 speeding citations during the holiday period.  During last year’s four-day New Year’s driving period, 10 people were killed and 172 were injured in 552 crashes investigated by the state police.

The statistics do not include crashes investigated by other law enforcement agencies
