A head-on crash on Valley Road in Rye Township, Perry County, has resulted in one fatality. According to reports, David Hammaker, of Marysville was traveling east on Valley Road when his 2004 Dodge Ram crossed into the westbound lane of traffic. His vehicle struck a 1999 Ford F-450 head-on that was being driven by Michael Sheaffer of Enola. In Sheaffer’s vehicle were passengers Ryan Bringhurst and Ryan Blasko, both of Shermans Dale; and Jonathan Patterson, of Elliotsburg.
Hammaker was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bringhurst sustained severe injuries and was flown to Hershey Medical Center.
