East Hanover Car Accident Injures 2

How important is looking both ways and yielding to traffic? Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Route 22 in East Hanover Township Friday October 5, 2012.

Jeffrey Willets, 41, of Rehrersburg, Berks County, and a 16-year-old Jonestown boy were transported by First Aid and Safety Patrol to Hershey Medical Center after the 4:46 p.m. crash at Racehorse Drive, state police said. Both had to be extricated from their vehicles.

The boy’s car was traveling north on Racehorse Drive when it pulled across Route 22 and was struck by a sport-utility vehicle driven by Willets that was traveling east on Route 22, police said. The car struck the left rear side of a pick-up truck driven by Kenneth Blatt, 81, of Jonestown, that was stopped on Racehorse Drive facing south.  All three drivers were wearing seat belts.
