On July 24, 2015, partner Scott Cooper was invited as a guest speaker to the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges at the Hershey Hotel.
Cooper, who has been a guest speaker at numerous legal events, presented and spoke on Pennsylvania uninsured and underinsured insurance issues.
By law, Pennsylvanians must obtain several forms of auto insurance before getting behind the wheel; uninsured and underinsured insurance coverage is optional. Full tort and limited tort policies, which are required, can determine your legal right to bring a claim against another driver. These various forms of insurance can often be difficult to understand, for both those in the legal sphere and local drivers.
Cooper’s legal focus is personal injury law, specifically auto accident and insurance cases. He was an editor for the leading dissertation on Pennsylvania Auto Insurance, which was released in December 2012. He was also an editor of the supplements for the Third Edition, released in 2013 and 2014.
The mission of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges is to research and disseminate information of interest provided by its members to the judiciary. The conference serves as a way to develop and promote the enactment of legislation as well as improving legal procedures.
The team at Schmidt Kramer is proud to have had a member of the law firm presenting at the conference and look forward to seeing the positive legal changes that arise from the annual conference.
