Schmidt Kramer is proud to announce that Emily Harling of Harrisburg, PA is the recipient of The Schmidt Kramer Annual Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
Ms. Harling is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, where she maintains a 3.8 grade point average and was on the honor roll in her first semester. She is expected to graduate in May of 2022.
The firm awards one $1,500 scholarship each year to a Pennsylvania college or university student who displays outstanding scholastic and academic excellence.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and submit a 500-word essay on how the youth of today can help to positively shape the legal system in the future.
In her essay, Ms. Harling captured our attention by focusing on how today’s youth are becoming more politically involved and educated on legal issues. Young people are realizing how they can individually make changes happen by exercising their civic duty, such as by voting in elections and using social media and technology to connect with other people their age.
Her essay highlights the need for today’s youth to influence positive change within the government. This includes fighting for more legal and equality rights by advocating for certain issues, abiding by the current laws, and creating new laws to help future generations.
On behalf of our legal team at Schmidt Kramer, we would like to congratulate Emily Harling on her academic achievements so far and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
