Tractor Trailer Crash on Route 741 In Paradise Township

Posted on Apr 04, 2013

A tractor-trailer crashed in Paradise Township, Lancaster County this morning, April 4, 2013, shutting down Route 741.  Reports are that a tractor-trailer possibly struck a cow and a utility pole and ended up in a ditch in the 700 block of Strasburg Road at approximately 4:30 a.m.  One person was injured and taken to Lancaster General Hospital.

Utility lines are down and the truck’s fuel tanks leaked fuel into a small creek.  A county hazardous materials team responded to the scene.  All the diesel fuel remaining in the tractor-trailer was removed shortly before 6 a.m., according to a county radio report.  Strasburg Road will be closed for an extended amount of time, the dispatch supervisor said.
