Cumberland County Coroner Todd Eckenrode this afternoon said Ramesh Jindal, 67, of Eliza Way, Mechanicsburg, was the man killed in a Saturday afternoon crash in Hampden Township.
Jindal was declared dead the scene as a result of head and neck injuries.
According to a previous report by police, he was in a 2008 Toyota Avalon headed northbound on Good Hope Road. It collided at 3:25 p.m. with a 2005 Honda Pilot, which had been eastbound on Creekview Road.
His female passenger, who was his wife, was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center by ambulance, police said.
She was treated for her injuries and was unable to communicate, Eckenrode said. Her condition improved enough to allow her to be notified of the loss of her husband, he added.
The woman driving the Honda and her son were taken by ambulance to Holy Spirit Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hampden Township Police Department and the Coroner’s Office with the assistance of the Cumberland County Accident Reconstruction Team.
