Household Exclusion Clause Upheld by Penn. Supreme Court

The state Supreme Court has affirmed the validity of an auto insurance policy's household exclusion clause barring the recovery of UM/UIM benefits in a claim involving a vehicle owned by the insured but covered by a different policy issued by another company.

Schmidt Kramer’s Scott Cooper said the concurring opinion appears to leave a door open for further review of the issue, especially in cases when a single insurance carrier provides coverage for cars in the same household under separate policies. Click here to read more.
