SchmidtKramer to Donate $10,000 to Nancy Liu FundSchmidt Kramer has chosen to donate $10,000 to the Nancy Liu Fund which assists students in The Dickinson School of Law's Disability Law Clinic attend national conferences on disability law. We view this as a way to demonstrate our commitment to those whose economic hardships stem from physical and mental disabilities. Our firm represents many clients who end up outside the economic and social mainstream because of disabilities not of their own making. As an "older" Dickinson graduate, as well as a friend, Terry Hyman has become familiar with Professor Robert Rains' dedication to interesting students in pursuing careers as advocates for injured and disabled persons, especially through The Dickinson School of Law's Disability Law Clinic. When Prof. Rains explained that Nancy Liu's career practicing disability law had been cut short by an accident in which she was killed shortly after graduation, both Terry Hyman and Chuck Schmidt considered the Nancy Lui Fund the perfect method to support our Law School, to further Bob Rains' efforts to educate new advocates for disabled people, and to honor in the most concrete way dedicated lawyers who, like Nancy Liu, choose to represent those who need help the most, rather than those who have the most money.
Representing disabled persons in Social Security, Workmen's Compensation, and personal injury claims is the reason Schmidt Kramer exists. We are proud to make this contribution to the Nancy Lui Fund in the hope others will follow her commitment to these very same people.
SchmidtKramer attorneys Tom Cook and Melissa Leininger focus on disability issues while Terry Hyman and Charles Schmidt focus on complex litigation, including medical malpractice cases. Check out the Med Mal 101 section of our Web site for useful information about medical errors and how to avoid them. This information is helpful whether or not you ever need a lawyer. There is also valuable information about Social Security and workers' compensation claims. Finally, we are always ready to live up to our slogan. You can talk to a lawyer about your disability. We charge no fee and will always listen and answer whatever questions you may have.
