What is the roadmap to proving the case against Penn State in the Jerry Sandusky Child Abuse Scandal?
On October 12, 2012 Widener University School of Law will be hosting at its Harrisburg campus a Symposium titled, "Legal Implications of the Sandusky Scandal". The Symposium will take place at the Harrisburg Campus of the law school from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.
As part of the symposium, Schmidt Kramer Partner and state trial lawyer (PAJ) President Scott Cooper will present a topic on the civil liability of the University and its role in the scandal. He will focus on how the Freeh Report and emails, in addition to the recent McCreary lawsuit filing, provide a roadmap for the civil liability of PSU. Everyone understands Jerry Sandusky's liability but he will also point out the prior knowledge of the University going back to at least 1998 and may touch upon the possibility of insurance coverage for the incidents and possible early settlements.
