The law firm now known as SchmidtKramer was founded in 1983 by Charles Schmidt. The firm started with two partners and one secretary and has grown over the years in personnel, prestige, and experience. The firm is home to a host of legal professionals, which includes six lawyers in a beautifully restored historic building in downtown Harrisburg.

For more than 20 years SchmidtKramer has successfully litigated a wide range of personal injury claims throughout central Pennsylvania. Senior partner Gerry Kramer is a past president of United Cerebral Palsy Central Pennsylvania and continues to serve the organization in a variety of capacities.

Chuck Schmidt and Gerry Kramer have raised funds by participating in the Multiple Sclerosis 150, a bike tour to and from and the Jersey shore that serves as a major fundraiser for multiple sclerosis. Additionally, the firm sponsors a number of youth athletic programs and volunteers the time of its members to help support these activities.
