Five people, including two young children, were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle accident on South Front Street just after 5 p.m. Tuesday that slowed traffic during rush hour.
A witness at the scene said a silver Chevrolet Impala crossed into the other lane heading north in the 400 block of South Front and slammed into a Chrysler Pacifica that was carrying the two children.
Sunbury police and ambulance and fire department personnel were on the scene, and all five occupants were taken to Sunbury Community Hospital for treatment. Traffic was moving normally again within the hour.
Police did not release more information, including the victims’ names, on Tuesday night and said the crash is under investigation. Without names, information on the victims’ conditions could not be ascertained.
