Shamokin Paper and Police Report Drivers Killed In Head On Crash

Police and newspaper reports from Shamokin, just outside of Sunbury, state that a head-on crash on August 1, 2011 along Route 147 in Lower Augusta Township claimed the lives of two women and closed a two-mile section of the highway for more than three hours. Amelia D. Shrawder and Laurie J. Holt, were killed in the crash.
Trooper Marc Yemzow of the state police reported Shrawder was driving south on Route 147, approximately one mile north of Fishers Ferry, when her 2005 Chevrolet Venture van crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Holt nearly head-on.
