The Sunbury Daily Item is reporting that a Girardville woman is in serious condition following a two-car accident Saturday at the Route 61 intersection outside the Wal-Mart department store.  According to Coal Township police reports, Kevin Thomas, of Kulpmont, was traveling north on Route 61 at 10:13 a.m. this past Saturday morning when he came to a stop at a red traffic light, waiting to enter the Wal-Mart. His 2012 Jeep was struck from behind by a 1999 Dodge Stratus driven by John Weidensaul, of Girardville. Jillian Yackera, of Girardville, was a passenger in Weidensaul’s vehicle. Both of them were injured.
