A 46-year-old York, Pennsylvania, man is facing charges in connection to a police chase and subsequent accident that followed. According to WHTM 27 News, the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

A spokesman for the Springettsbury Township Police Department stated that just after 2:00 a.m. Thursday, officers attempted to pull the man over for speeding and swerving in and out of traffic. The man led police on a high-speed chase for several miles before it ended at the intersection of Haines Road and Mt. Rose Avenue.

It was there that the man attempted to run a red light and collided with another vehicle. The impact of the collision sent the pickup truck flying into the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, where it struck two pedestrians.

All four people involved were injured and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment.

The driver responsible for the crash faces numerous charges, including aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence and hit and run involving serious injury. In addition, the man also faces eight misdemeanor charges, including reckless endangerment.
