A man was arrested today in Massachusetts for infecting over thirty people with Hepatitis C and stealing fentanyl, a controlled substance.  He worked as a lab technician in a cardiac catheterization lab at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire.  Federal officials called him a "serial infector."  He stole syringes with fentanyl, used the pain medication for himself, and then replaced the syringes filled with saline to be used on patients.  Investigators say that over half a dozen states may have been affected. Hepatitis C attacks the liver and is a chronic disease.  Will Pennsylvania citizens turn out to be affected by the problem?  Should the hospital have recognized the danger?  Surely there is more to come from this investigation.
